Dr Cameron McLintock


Dr McLintock is a Brisbane-based Ophthalmologist (Eye Surgeon) with sub-specialist expertise in Cataract Surgery, Refractive and Laser Eye Surgery and Corneal transplantation. He is committed to patient-focused care and providing his patients with international standard, leading-edge treatments available for their eye health.


After 7 years at the University of Queensland, Dr McLintock graduated as a medical Doctor in 2006. He then worked in several Queensland hospitals for the next 5 years, mainly in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine. During this period, he developed an interest in Ophthalmology and completed a Masters of Medicine in Ophthalmic Science through the University of Sydney. Subsequently, he commenced 6 years of specialist training in Ophthalmology which he completed through the Princess Alexandra Hospital, the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, the Gold Coast University Hospital and the Queensland Children’s Hospital. In 2017, he was awarded the Topham Scholarship and travelled to England to undertake 18 months of sub-specialist training in Corneal and Refractive Surgery at the Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead, an institution with an international reputation for excellence and innovation. There he refined his skills in Cataract Surgery, Corneal Surgery (including all types of corneal transplants) and Refractive Surgery.


Dr McLintock consults privately at Southside Eye Centre in Upper Mount Gravatt, KindSIGHT Eye Specialists in Indooroopilly and Mary River Eye Specialists in Hervey Bay. In the public sector, he works as a Corneal and Anterior Segment Surgeon at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.

1) Cataract surgery

• Including all types of complex cataract surgery.


2) Refractive surgery

• Including LASIK, PRK, Refractive Lens Exchange and Implantable Collimer Lens.


3) Corneal surgery

• Including all types of corneal transplantation: Penetrating Keratoplasty (PK), Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty (DALK), Descemet Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK), Descemet Stripping Endothelial Keratoplasty (DSEK).


4) Keratoconus

• Including Corneal Collagen Cross-linking.


5) Pterygium Surgery


Dr McLintock is passionate about teaching. He is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and is heavily involved with training Queensland’s future Eye Surgeons through his work at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. As recognition of this, Dr McLintock was awarded the Queensland Trainer or Excellence Award in 2019 by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO).


Dr McLintock has authored numerous peer reviewed journal articles in international Ophthalmology Journals on many topics including cataract surgery, refractive surgery, keratoconus, corneal transplantation and limbal stem cell transplantation. He regularly presents at Australian and International Ophthalmology conferences.
